A WEEKEND WITH GILLIAN PEEBLES

Collie Art Gallery proudly presents an experience in raising professional and practical development within the Visual Arts:


Saturday and Sunday, February 16 – 17, 2019

 Gillian is a highly respected artist whose successful career spans some forty five years and has taken her all over the world. Amongst the highlights is the winning of the ‘People’s Choice’ and ‘Silver Medal’ in the prestigious ‘Caterina de Medici Painting Awards in Florence, Italy. Her senior accreditations are with the Royal Academy of Arts in London and include ‘The Judging of Visual Arts at International Level’ and ‘Exhibition procedures and Artistic Studies’. Nationally she holds ‘Certificate of Nomination‘ for ‘Australian of the Year 2009’ for her contributions to the Arts of Australia. Gracefully articulate, with a vast array of knowledge, time spent with Gillian is time well spent.

During the tutorials she will be talking about a range of painting techniques and will share knowledge that she has acquired over her years of experience. Four sessions will be completed over the two days, including:

Sat 16 February: morning and afternoon sessions from 9 am – 2.00 pm (30 min lunch break)

Morning session: Brushes – types, styles, techniques, maintenance and storage

Afternoon session: Foliage, light, shadows

This sessions will be followed by the Opening Event of Dianne Clark’s exhibition, ‘Di.verse’’

Sun 17th February: morning and afternoon sessions from 9am – 3.00 pm (30 min lunch break)

Morning session: Skies, clouds and reflections

Afternoon session: Questions and answer – ask Gillian anything at all, from painting techniques, mediums, composition, judging art shows …. whatever you are interested in.

Feel free to bring along one of your recent works – Gillian will offer a constructive critique for your professional development!

Cost: $80 please register your interest and pay at the Gallery. Bring your own lunch.
