Weekly art classes kicked off last week

Local artist Richard Fry welcomed the first students last week in regular weekly art classes designed to unlock the creativity and develop  skills of people of any age or ability.

Students will explore a variety of techniques and mediums throughout the 10-week course.

In the first introductory week, students began to develop the concept of drawing from still-life and discussed the importance of keeping a visual diary to explore various avenues of creative thinking as well as practicing drawing skills.

In the later session, adults jumped straight into working with clay in preparation for casting a three-dimensional model.

Classes require no former experience and can be attempted at any level of skill. They are a place to get to know other creative people and develop your skills, a beginning point to help you work out what the next steps could be.

There are still a few places available in each session.
