Report finds art investment booming

Consulting giant Deloitte released its third Art and Finance Report recently, which offers a wealth of new data and insight into the ever-growing art investment sector, as well as some of the motivations of key stakeholders in the fields of art and finance.

The report found that the average wealthy individual currently allocates approximately nine per cent of his or her portfolio to art and collectibles, with an increase in forecasted portfolio allocations to art as an investible asset class.

In just two years, the number of collectors taking an investment view on their purchases has risen from 53 to 76 per cent of overall respondents.
