Splash is a hands-on two-day mosaic building workshop where participants will be constructing a mural for the Collie pool. Participants will learn the process of creating a larger artwork from sketching to construction. Age is open and participants will create their own miniature mosaic. Sessions will run over two days, 11am-4pm, Tuesday and Wednesday, 14-15 July. The cost of $45 ($40 for Friends of the Gallery) includes materials and tuition.
Richard Fry’s popular From Little Things Big Things Grow weekly art classes are running again in Term 3 with just a few changes. An extra session has been added to accommodate our younger artists, aged 7-10 years, and the sessions have been lengthened slightly to allow the creativity to flow. Students will work with Richard to create artworks from a variety of recycled materials using various techniques that appear so full of life that they will need to be glued, stuck or nailed down to stop them running away. Classes run each Thursday during Term 3, 23 July-24 September 2015, starting at 3.30pm (7-10 year-olds), 4.45pm (7-10 year-olds), 6pm (10-14 year-olds) and 7.15pm (adults). All sessions are one hour long.
