Jump in on a collaborative artwork at this weekend’s Collie Show

The Collie Art Gallery has joined forces with the Collie Show organisers and local photographer DC Photography West Coast to bring you a collaborative art workshop featuring Collie’s brand-new skate park.

An action-packed panorama of the new skate park in Lefroy Street, Collie, is the basis for a free art workshop being run primarily for teenagers in the pavilion at the Collie Show being held this Saturday, 15 November 2014.

The photograph has been split up into around 50 sections, with each part to be rendered by young artists in their own style, ultimately forming a collaborative artwork with a finished size of more than 4m.

A range of materials will be available for each artist to stamp their individual style, from charcoals to pastels, ink, acrylic and watercolour.

The workshop will be run from 10am to 4pm and is open to all participants aged 12 years and over.

The finished piece will be displayed at the new art gallery when it opens early next year.

Gallery committee members will be on hand to answer queries about the new art gallery, take membership applications and sell tickets for a prize pack raffle to be drawn at the end of the day.
