Fancy getting up close and personal with the operation of the Collie Art Gallery?
The gallery will need volunteers with a range of skills to assist in meeting and greeting visitors, learning about exhibitions and acting as guides, helping with the preparation and conclusion of exhibitions.
The first training course for the gallery is being held on 7 July to provide gallery volunteers with the necessary skills to allow the gallery to hold exhibitions of a national or state significance. This session will be followed by a second two-day workshop being held in December-January when construction of the gallery is complete.
Training is being provided by Art on the Move, which has more than ten years of experience in the field of exhibition training and advice, designed to meet the needs of galleries and exhibition venues around Western Australia.
Modules include:
Module 1.2 Works of Art Curating and Conservation
Module 1.4 Collection and Venue Management
Module 2.1.2 Primary Public Attendant Duties
Module 3.5.2 Education Events
Module 3.4.2 Exhibition and Gallery Programming
Training is being offered at no cost to participants, but a commitment to volunteer at the gallery is an expectation.
Places are extremely limited, so book now.
