The Collie Art Gallery is holding its first-ever social event for the Members of the Gallery starting at 7pm on 19 September 2014 at the Collie Senior High School’s Performing Arts Centre.
The event will be a feast for your eyes as well as a chance to meet and mingle with other like-minded people, with the screening of art films and tasting of art-inspired finger food, wine, beer and soft drink and a guitar ensemble busking.
The Galley Group committee members are testing their culinary and creative skills to bring you a range of finger food inspired by famous artworks. Test your art knowledge and see if you can guess their inspiration. If you’re a bit crafty in the kitchen, why not join the fun and bring a plate?
Two half-hour art films will be screened during the evening, including Jenny Sages’ Pathways to Portraiture and Jeffrey Smart’s Master of Stillness.
Background music will be provided by a guitar ensemble of students from Collie Senior High School busking to raise money for their upcoming Gallipoli trip.
The event is free of charge, but available only to members of the Members of the Gallery. If you’re not a member yet, it’s not too late to join. Become an Inaugural Member before 1 January 2015 and your membership fees will never increase as long as you remain a member.
