Friday the 8th of September saw a wonderful atmosphere created within the Gallery as we hosted the opening of the annual Fesitv Arty, formerly the Griffin Art Festival. Over 100 people came along to listen to the pleasant music, have a drink and some food and wonder at the talent that emerges from Collie and its surrounds. Mick Murray attended along with Griffin Coal representatives, Steve Pitts and Brant Edwards spoke to the crowd along with Jeff Riley from the Bendigo Bank, all are major sponsors. They thanked the many volunteers and staff who had worked tirelessly to bring the Festival together. The display at the Gallery coincides with other events aimed at celebrating the Arts in Collie.
The art works at Collie Art Gallery are on display until 1 October.
