Gary Dufour Talks on Howard Taylor’s Work

Join Gary Dufour at the Collie Art Gallery for a talk on Howard Taylor’s work on Saturday, 29 October, 11am.

Gary Dufour an art historian based in Mount Claremont, WA, was chief curator and deputy director at the Art Gallery of WA (1995–2013) and senior curator at the Vancouver Art Gallery, Canada (1988–95). Dufour first met Howard Taylor in 1983 and went on to curate three solo exhibitions including the Phenomena exhibition that toured to ten venues across Australia from 2003 to 2006. Dufour has written three books on Howard Taylor including Howard Taylor Works from The Kerry Stokes Collection in 2022. Currently he is editing and annotating the Howard Taylor Journal: 1946-60 and1978-2001, an overview of the artist’s highly individual visual processes and artistic experimentation.
