Wherever I go, my camera goes too.
Blake Jones
Blake Jones is a train driver living and working in Collie who enjoys photography in his spare time.
Blake shares his love of photography with his mother. His first camera was a hand-me-down Nikon that was his mother’s. Together they take trips all around the South West photographing the diverse landscapes.
After landing a job at Aurizon as a Locomotive Train Driver, one of Blake’s first purchases was an entry-level digital SLR. “Being a beginner’s camera, there wasn’t much I could do with it,” says Blake. “But that didn’t stop me.”
Six years on, Blake has upscaled to the Canon 7d Mk2.
“Wherever I go, my camera goes too,” says Blake. “If I see something that would look good as a photo, I stop and take the time to look at different angles, choosing the best outcome for the piece.”
Blake is a self-taught photographer, drawing tips and inspirations from YouTube videos, various photography magazines and friends in the industry.
Blake has recently begun exploring storm photography. “Although it is very dangerous, I’m still willing to stand out there and capture some of Mother Nature’s greatest fury.”
Blake has volunteered as the local speedway photographer for the past five years. His photographs have been published in the Western Australian…..
