The Shire of Collie is in the process of constructing a new purpose-built art gallery in the centre of the central business district. The Collie Art Gallery is intended to provide a cultural centre that provides opportunities for all members of the Collie community and visitors to enjoy, participate in, and learn from the arts.
The position of Interim Gallery Manager is a contract position for 18 months starting on 24 November 2014, and is intended to enable the transition of the new Collie Art Gallery from initial fit-out of the new building to a fully functioning gallery with all necessary procedures, policies and programs in place.
The Interim Gallery Manager will be responsible for tasks relating to the management, sales, operation, administration, client and artist relationships, events and communication. The position will involve intensive involvement and cooperation with the Collie Gallery Group Inc to develop art gallery programs and exhibitions, manage budgets and fundraising, and coordinating the operations of the gallery in collaboration with the Collie Gallery Group, which is the management authority for the new gallery.
