The new Collie Art Gallery’s signage was installed this week ahead of construction handover to the Shire of Collie.
The new art gallery has been a hive of activity over the past few weeks, with White Building Co. working to complete the final fit-out and finishing off.
The gallery’s polished concrete floor, which has been covered by a protective grout during construction, has been sanded to reveal its shiny glory.
The operable walls in the main gallery that will provide the flexibility to host very diverse displays of work have also been installed.
Once construction is complete, the Shire of Collie will complete the footpaths, driveways and landscaping to finish the exterior.
Space has been allocated for a tall bronze artwork directly in front of the gallery.
Brookfield Rail is in the process of upgrading the level railway crossing, which is a pre-cursor to upgrades of the parking and pedestrian access on Harvey Street, Forrest Street and the Collie PCYC car park.
