Gallery announces staff appointments

The Collie Art Gallery management committee is extremely pleased to announce the appointment of two part-time staff members ahead of its opening early next year.

The gallery’s operations will be overseen by the new Gallery Director Sarah Stanley, who is responsible for transitioning the new gallery from initial fit-out of the new building to a fully functioning gallery with all necessary procedures, policies and programs in place. The Gallery Director is responsible for management, sales, operation, administration, client and artist relationships, events and communication. Sarah has a proven track record in delivering a diverse range of projects. She is a well-known member of the Collie community and has been a member of the management committee since its inception in 2013. Sarah has worked hard in a volunteer capacity over the last 12 months to set the gallery up for success.

The Gallery Director will be supported by Joshua Thomason in his role as Creative Director. Joshua is an award-winning multimedia producer with more than 15 years experience building successful corporate and community development programs. His past experience includes work with The Black Dog Institute, Beyond Empathy, Vodafone and the creation of the world’s first interactive mobile television show, Street TV. Joshua brings fresh ideas and a wealth of experience to his role in the development and implementation of a community arts and cultural development program that will encourage active and passive participation in the arts as well as addressing specific community needs.

Sarah Stanley has already begun work, while Joshua Thomason will begin work at the gallery in January 2015.

Please join with us in welcoming Sarah and Joshua to their roles.
