Volunteers ramp up

The Collie Art Gallery is calling on community members to get involved with the gallery’s day-to-day operations by becoming a volunteer.

Volunteers are needed for lots of different roles. Some need special training, while others just need to welcome people to the gallery.

Two group inductions will be held at the gallery on 3 and 4 May 2015 to allow prospective volunteers to familiarise themselves with the gallery. and the roles they’ll play.

A workshop was held at the gallery this week to give a group of volunteers the necessary skills to mount and pack up exhibitions as they rotate throughout the year.

You can choose to volunteer weekly, fortnightly or monthly, depending on the time you have available.

Volunteer for a minimum of 30 hours per year and receive free Friends of the Gallery membership for the following year. Artists who volunteer also receive a discount off the commission on sales of work.
