Watercolours in Collie

The Watercolours WA – City to Country exhibition got off to a great start on the 25^th November. A group of Gallery Volunteers attended the Artist Talk in the afternoon and had a preview of the exhibition, meeting Penny Maddison who did a great job of sharing her experiences with the participants. The watercolour artists then shared their celebration with a crowd, mainly from Collie, later in the evening. Speakers at the opening included Fran Dorozenko, Collie Gallery Group’s Deputy Chairperson, and Susan Payne, President of the Watercolour Society of Western Australia. The exhibition was followed by two workshops on the weekend. A few of the Society members have already started a one-week camp in and around Collie to depict the beautiful landscape in the area.
