A unique opportunity for emerging artists

Watch This Space is an opportunity for Western Australian artists to display their work in a beautiful new art gallery within the township of Collie.

This progressive town is now firmly on the calendar for the Arts community since the establishment of a purpose-built A-class gallery in 2015.

With a range of successful exhibitions over the past year, the Collie Art Gallery is now looking to promote the work of talented artists who would like to participate in a group exhibition.

Watch this Space will showcase a range of work at a relatively low cost to the exhibitor, aiming to encourage emerging artists as well as those who are further along in their careers.

Key dates

• Applications close Friday, 27 May
• Artists informed of selection criteria by Wednesday, 1 June
• Entry fee payment due by 8 June
• Selected works to be delivered 9 or 10 June
• Opening night Friday, 17 June
• Exhibition on show until Sunday, 17 July
• Unsold works must be collected 19 or 20 July

Two local businesses and our local Member have very generously offered sponsorship for prizes for Watch this Space, an opportunity for emerging artists to showcase their work at a top-class gallery.

Whispering Pines owner Wand Bird, Chook Scraps owner, and Mick Murray MLA have offered a total of $700 in prize money for a first prize of $500 and a second prize of $200, non-acquisitive.

So if you’ve ever wanted to see your work professionally hung at a top-class gallery with your very own opening night, you now have even more of an incentive.
